Lesson 3: Review of Image Purpose
In this section you will spend three hours reviewing the three main purposes of including an image in your presentation, complete a practice activity and demonstrate your proficiency. A handout will be available to you, along with the same information in pdf format. When you are finished you will be able to review and critique several layouts for their effective use of graphic images.

Your practice activity for this lesson is simple. You get to voice your opinion, but your opinion needs to be grounded in research results. Proficiency Demonstration: (20 pts.)
Since the ultimate purpose of this module is to result in the creation of the professional presentation portion of your online portfolio, it is time to focus on that goal. Your proficiency demonstration activity involves the planning of the message and important points of your final presentation. Please create an outline of your presentation (PowerPoint has a built-in function for this purpose) and include information that will address the following points:
- Purpose of the presentation
- Points to emphasize
- Determine your audience
- Calculate the length of your presentation
- Predict the type of graphic you will use and the purpose it will serve
Attach your ppt. or Clarisworks file and email it to your instructor.
